Montebello has been home to my family for over 20 years and I naturally want my daughter to grow up in a community where she has family roots. I purchased my home in Montebello because I believe the city is moving in the right direction, however, there must be a fresh perspective, and innovative ideas to serve Montebello's residents and make things better. As a mother of a toddler, I value community programing and activities for families and children. My two-year-old daughter, Alia, and I frequent the local libraries for Story Time and other activities. The library is a great resource for families providing not only literature, but also information on jobs, community outreach, classes and TOYS! Young children learn through play, making toys an invaluable resource. We also enjoy the many activities within the community, including Summer Movies in the Park, the Christmas Tree Lighting at City Hall, the Montebello Firefighters' Pancake Breakfast Toy Drive and Snow Day in the Park.
I graduated from the University of Southern California, a Latino Alumni Association Scholar, Black Alumni Association Scholar, and a McNair Scholar. I earned extensive international experience by continuing my studies in Madrid, Spain, and Santiago, Chile. Parlaying my education with real world experiences, I created my own business in international relations, project management, and government procurement. We offer a wide range of global support services to small and medium-sized governments and organizations with community, infrastructure and business development.
My most rewarding work has been my roles in Libreville, Gabon, where I spent many years as the International Director of a women’s empowerment group. As the International Director, I worked closely with local government and organizations to empower women through economic development, social development, and community building. It is time to bring the practical knowledge, creative planning and redevelopment strategies that I have acquired over the past 15 years to my home, Montebello.
This election is not about me, it is about our community and making change happen.

Our voice matters. We are the people who live, work and own businesses here in Montebello. Our input is essential in making the things that are important to us happen. For the past three years, I have worked along side the city council as a community advocate for the Quiet Zone. Now, I would like to take a leadership role and be an active voice at City Hall to ensure that we are completing action items, mitigating externalities and moving forward towards a quieter and safer community.
I purchased my home and decided to raise my family in Montebello because I believe it is moving in the right direction, but we need a fresh perspective that is inclusive of the community. I am running for City Council because I believe I can provide the type of community-based leadership that will move Montebello forward and better serve its residents and businesses.
I want to work with and not against the progressive changes happening within the city. We can make things happen within our city, but we need the voices of our residents to be fully represented at City Hall. With complete inclusion and a partnership between the people and city hall, we can continue to move Montebello forward.
